Building and Sharing Custom Audiences on Meta
This step-by-step guide will walk you through building and sharing custom audiences on Meta Ads Manager. Custom audiences are essential for retargeting people exposed to your campaign content.
1. Build Custom Audiences

Access Ads Manager:

Create Custom Audience:
- Click on "Create" and select "Custom Audience."

Choose Source for Custom Audience:
- Select "Video" if you're retargeting video viewers.
- Select "Instagram Account" if you're retargeting based on engagement with Instagram Stories or static posts.

Configure Video Retargeting:
- For video retargeting, select "Video."
- Choose "People who have watched at least 3 seconds" as the engagement criteria.
- Optionally, create variations for 25%, 50%, etc., engagement for more optimization options.
- Select the video(s) you want to retarget from your campaign.

Select Campaign and Page:
- Indicate whether the campaign ran on a Facebook or Instagram account.
- Select the page associated with the campaign.
- Ensure you have access to the creator's account if needed.

2. Share Custom Audiences
- Locate the Audience:
- Find the newly created custom audience in the "Audiences" section.
- Share Audience:
- Select the custom audience by ticking the checkbox next to it.
- Click on the "Share" button.
- Enter Ad Account ID:
- Input the ad account ID of the account you want to share the audience with.
- The ad account ID can be found next to the account name or within the URL of the ad account page.
- Grant Access:
- Ensure that "Targeting & Insights" access is granted. This allows the recipient to see the audience size.
- Click "Share."
